Zanzibar International Film Festival
Zanzibar International Film Festival is a film festival that takes place in Zanzibar, Tanzania. It is the only film festival that takes place in Africa and has been running since 1999.
The event lasts for 10 days every December. There are several events throughout this time period including screenings of new films, panel discussions and debates about African cinema as well as other topics related to filmmaking such as funding projects or casting actors/actresses for roles in movies.
It’s a Wonderful World Music Festival
It’s a Wonderful World Music Festival is an annual celebration of music, dance and culture. This year’s festival will take place from December 13-14 at the South African National Botanical Gardens in Pretoria. The event will feature local artists like Johnny Clegg, Freshlyground and the Mahotella Queens; international performers such as Hugh Masekela (South Africa), Zap Mama (Congo) and Femi Kuti & The Positive Force Band (Nigeria).

Summer in the City Jazz Festival
Summer in the City Jazz Festival is an annual event that takes place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The festival was first held in July 2016 and it has become an annual event since then. It aims to celebrate and promote jazz music through various activities including concerts, workshops and jam sessions.
The festival also aims at providing opportunities for new artists to showcase their talent by giving them a chance to perform on stage with well-established musicians from across Africa and beyond. This year’s edition of Summer In The City will take place from July 22nd until 27th 2019 at several venues around Dar es Salaam including Heritage Hall (main venue), Nyerere International Convention Center (NICC), Amani National Park Hotel & Resort as well as Zanzibar International Hotel & Spa Resort which will host artists such as Hugh Masekela, Abdullah Ibrahim Trio & South African Guitarist Trevor Rabin who will be performing together with other local artists such as Thomas Mapfumo from Zimbabwean band Zapfukwe Band together with his son Ngwenya Nhongo Manziwa who is also known as “King Kong” due to his height being 6’7″.
Dar es Salaam Carnival
In Tanzania, the Dar es Salaam Carnival is a time for street parades, music and dance. Usually held in February or March, it’s a celebration of the end of the rainy season when people can come out and enjoy themselves without worrying about getting wet! The carnival has been running since 1993 and is organized by the Tanzania National Arts Festival Trust (TANAFEST).
